Constitution exam dates 2026
The Constitution basics exam is required both for a permanent residence permit and for citizenship. This page has the dates, the registration deadline and everything you need before you book.
The essentials
- Registration closes 15 calendar days before the examMiss it and you wait for the next sitting.
- The exam fee is €21Fee and registration site checked against the NŠA candidate leaflet on 22 September 2026
- 20 questions, 3 options each, 14 correct to pass (70%)
- The exam is in Lithuanian only — no translation, no dictionary
- Exempt: people aged 65 and over, people with disability groups I–II, and people with severe chronic mental illness

Do not forget the second exam
A permanent residence permit and citizenship both require the state language exam at A2 level as well as this one. It is booked through the same system.

- Sign in at migracija.lt (the Migration Department's MIGRIS system)
- Choose the Constitution basics exam and a date that suits you
- Register at least 15 calendar days before the exam
- Pay the €21 fee
