Greetings and introducing yourself

The rules

Lithuanian distinguishes whom you are speaking to. With a stranger, an official or anyone older you use jūs; with a friend or a child, tu. In the exam interview and at the Migration Department, always use jūs.

Play

Play as often as you like

  1. —Labas rytas. Aš esu Rūta, jūsų nauja kaimynė.

  2. —Labas rytas. Mano vardas Samiras. Labai malonu.

  3. —Iš kur jūs esate, Samirai?

  4. —Aš esu iš Sirijos. Lietuvoje gyvenu vienus metus.

  5. —Ar jums čia patinka?

  6. —Taip, labai patinka. Tik žiema šalta.

Dabar pasakykite patys — now say it yourself. Nothing is recorded and nothing is graded; the exam's speaking part is a live interview, so this is here to be imitated out loud.
