“A regular election of the President of the Republic shall be held on the last Sunday two months before the expiry of the term of office of the President of the Republic.”
A regular presidential election is held on the last Sunday two months before the end of the President's term of office.
Because the vote is held two months before the term ends, the elected President has time to prepare to take office while the incumbent continues working until the end of the term.
Memorise: last Sunday, two months before the end of the term. Do not confuse this with the date of Seimas elections (Article 57).
